Work Exposure

All occupational exposure will now be recorded on the staff exposure log sheet (attached) that is kept next to the control console of the scanner.

These sheets will be collected by Lesley on a weekly basis and we will act to avoid people exceeding our exposure limits, which you should note have been developed in house. The exposure limits are given in the risk assessment.

Report of exposure to magnetic fields will be provided with the exposure log at each magnet - and additionally will be posted on the safety noticeboard in the top corridor of the MR Centre.

NB. If a member of staff is scanned they should be treated exactly as an external volunteer. The field exposure does not to be additionally noted in the work exposure log.
